There are different hair textures and these all require specific kinds of products. My thick hair for example, does not do well with very light products. I refer to my hair as ‘wild tresses’ which need to be tamed. Fortunately for me, I am able to make great products that match my hair type appropriately. If you have thick manes, you can try this recipe and let me know how it works out for you. I am sure you would love it, the texture of the final product is just perfect, not too greasy, just perfect!

Ingredients:

Kokum butter: 4oz (1lb available for purchase)
Organic Shea butter: 4oz (1lb and 8oz available for purchase)
Organic Coconut oil: 3oz (8oz available for purchase)
Baobab oil: Grab our DIY body oil
Castor oil: DIY body oil

Next Steps

  • After assembling the above ingredients,
  • melt in a double boiler and mix thoroughly.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 9-10 hours or overnight depending on when you melted the ingredients.
  • Leave out in room temperature and mix thoroughly after the butter softens.

Please note that it is not required that you store this butter in the refrigerator as it takes on a nice soft texture at room temperature. Please let us know how your recipe turns out.
